Welcome to the site of the Chamber Music Academy of Thury.
Every summer, during the first fortnight of August, a score of
professional and amateur musicians meet around a chamber music
programme in the town of Thury, a small village in the Yonne
Department in Burgundy, 150 kms from the capital on the path from
Paris to Lyon.
A programme of about 50 works will be proposed and presented in small
medieval churches from the municipalities of Forterre and Puisaye
during seven concerts which bring togehter a thousand spectators each
year.
Sponsored by the General Council of the Yonne, the Chamber Music
Academy is hosted and supported by AIEPP Puisaye-Forterre, 14
municipalities of the two cantons and a network of voluntary helpers
mainly staffed by many residents.
